workshop

Have you really asked ALL your customers what they think about accessing your services and supports only via your website, App, social media or ChatBot?Do you ever wish there was a phone number you could use to ask a question, rather than navigating through many layers of a website, to sort of get an answer?Did you know 44% of adults in Australia who do not have the literacy to manage a range of day to day reading tasks?

Have you really asked ALL your customers what they think about accessing your services and supports only via your website, App, social media or ChatBot?

Do you ever wish there was a phone number you could use to ask a question, rather than navigating through many layers of a website, to sort of get an answer?

Did you know 44% of adults in Australia who do not have the literacy to manage a range of day to day reading tasks? And it is 20% of adolescents.

Have you ever considered how many people have no or low digital literacy?

A 2024 Australian report found the biggest workplace issue is the poor literacy and numeracy of staff. It impacts every aspect of work from task completion to workplace safety, workplace contracts and report writing and interpretation. Is this the same or different people with low digital literacy in the workplace?

What impact should this data have on your public facing content, and also your staff communication?

It may appear access to and use of the digital space is part of all of our communities. The needs of people with low literacy and low digital literacy skills are rarely considered. This ranges from the navigation, to what and how information is written and where it is on webpages, and the expectations for how and when people respond or not respond to you.

Join a conversation where we put people with low literacy at the centre of all our development. Walk away with some tips to use and a new appreciation of who is currently not being included.
