AI for Designers - Foundations

masterclass

A full‑day, hands‑on workshop to help you understand how AI fits into modern design work and start using it confidently across your end‑to‑end process.

What this workshop is about

AI is turning up in every part of the design workflow, from research, ideas, content, prototyping, and to handoff. This immersive is a day to slow down, get your hands dirty, and build a solid foundation for using AI in a way that feels practical and grounded.

Across the day you’ll move through four focused labs that mirror a real design process:

  • Lab 1: Research & insight, you’ll use AI to make sense of messy inputs such as interviews, feedback and support tickets, and turn them into clearer problems to solve. In

  • Lab 2: Ideas, flows & content, you’ll explore how AI can help you generate options, draft user journeys and produce tighter UX copy without losing your own voice.

  • Lab 3: Interface & critique, you’ll bring existing UI work and use AI to surface issues with hierarchy, clarity, accessibility and edge cases, then translate that into concrete improvements.

  • Lab 4: Handoff & communication, you’ll practise using AI to support specs, checklists and stakeholder updates so that decisions are easier to understand and act on across your team.

By the end of the workshop you’ll have seen where AI is genuinely useful, where it falls short, and how to keep your standards high while moving faster and feeling more confident in your core design craft.

The content is designed for product and UX designers who are curious about AI and want to develop real, repeatable skills across all levels.

What you will leave with

  1. A clear mental model of how modern AI systems work, what they’re good at, and where you still need to be critical.

  2. A set of practical workflows for using AI in research synthesis, ideation, UX writing, flows, and design critiques.

  3. Draft or improved artefacts from your own work – such as clearer problem statements, tighter copy, better documented flows, or more robust specs.

  4. Your own lightweight “AI in my practice” playbook: notes, prompts and checklists you can reuse and adapt with your team.
