Pecha Kucha themes

Here's what we'd love you to explore:

  • Creative confidence – How can early career professionals gain confidence in their ideas and communicate them effectively within teams? What strategies have helped you advocate for your work?
  • Failure as a learning tool – What role has failure played in your professional growth? How have setbacks helped you develop resilience and refine your skills?
  • Expanding your design mindset – How has learning from other fields—such as technology, business, or AI—shaped the way you approach your work?
  • Navigating early career growth – What has helped you find direction in your career? How have mentorship, leadership opportunities, or personal development played a role?
  • Adapting to market changes – As markets evolve, and industries shift away from traditional roles, and the world turns upside down, how can junior designers adapt to remain competitive, visible and sane?
  • Design impact on society – How can junior designers ensure their work is not only innovative but also socially responsible? What are the ethics in design they must consider?

Selection process and timeline

There will be 6 presentations selected.

We’ll be looking for alignment to our themes and how compelling your idea is — your idea doesn’t need to be perfect or ‘finished’, but you’ll need to have thought it through enough.

We’ll work with you to refine your idea and presentation to a high standard if you’re successfully selected.

Selected presenters will receive a complimentary ticket to DO25, presentation coaching, and an invitation to our VIP dinner on Wednesday 2 July.
