Kristin introduces an interactive design session focused on equity in AI. Participants will go from conceptual vision to practical implementation of an AI tool rooted in inclusive principles, learning how to embed equity-first thinking into machine-led interactions and digital services
Join Kristin for an interactive, hands-on design session where you’ll bring your values to life by crafting your own version of Kyam—an AI-powered design mentor who empowers your team to embed inclusive, ethical, and human-centered principles directly into your design workflow.
This is a hands-on, human-centred session where we’ll:
🎭 Role-play as hiring panels during “Agent Auditions” to define your agent’s role, mission, tone, values, and what success looks like remembering we aim to uplift and not replace.
🧱 Break down the system prompt into simple, human language we can all understand
🛠 Reflect on how your agent should think, respond, and set boundaries using storytelling and creative metaphors
🎨 Co-create a visual or sketch of your agent’s personality and purpose
⚙️ Build and connect your agent to Slack using Runbear
🧠 Walk away with your own working AI teammate—and a clear, inclusive foundation for how to define and evolve it.
This workshop builds on my work for International Women's Day with Kyam—an AI equity partner that started as a custom GPT and is now an integrated slack agent that can be set-up to help teams design more inclusively, document automatically, and grow together.
Let’s build agents that uplift, educate, and amplify.
Note: We will step away from our laptops for most of this workshop, however you will need your laptop for our integration activity using Runbear. Setting up your own private slack space account and Runbear account before the session will also keep us moving forward. (Both are free)
