Carlos is not a purist; he believes design should be pragmatic, collaborative, closely aligned to business outcomes, and executed with a bias for action.

He also believes that designers have the potential to radically reshape how businesses operate and grow. However, to achieve this, he emphasises the importance of speaking the language of business and understanding the operating models within which they work, in order to create meaningful, strategic impact.
